Elleboog was born out of five days of travel around the Netherlands and Belgium during the first week of April 2019. The idea was to write on the train as we traveled together each morning from Maastricht to a new city. The cities we visited, in order, were Groningen, Hasselt, Tilburg, Ghent, and Antwerp. We settled on five topics: being seen, a turning point, an interaction with a child, one about us, and dynamics with parents. In the ten resulting personal essays, we reflect on our past before and after we knew each other, as well as the future we build together.
